The Mount Moriac Hotel provides free 48-hour road-side camping for self-contained campers who are patrons of the hotel.

The camping area is situated a short distance away from Bells Beach and some of the world’s best beaches and tourist destinations along the Great Ocean Road.

We are a great option for Spirit of Tasmania passengers seeking a place to rest before or after their journey. With free camping offered to hotel patrons with bookings, it is conveniently located just 20 minutes away from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal in Geelong.

Since the campsite has limited capacity, only guests who have confirmed table reservations at the hotel are eligible to camp for free. To secure free camping, you must enter the ‘booking reference number’ for your table reservation, which can be found in the confirmation email, into our booking form.

There’s availability for 12 caravans only, and we ask that you show your booking confirmation on arrival to the hotel.

A map of the camping areas is accessible, along with bunting flags and wayfinding signage to indicate where parking is permitted. Please park in the marked areas only, as our car park is also for staff and customers.

We kindly ask that you take any rubbish you accumulate with you when you depart and not use our bins for disposal.

• The large gravel carpark next to the road-side pub is available for camping, with the parking entrance located 280m from Princes Highway turnoff, and the second entrance on the right.
• The pub is open daily for lunch and dinner from 11.30am, with meal service starting at 12pm.
• You can enjoy bistro and bar dining, an undercover beer garden, and outdoor Mt/Yards all year round, creating a wonderful country pub atmosphere.
• There’s an indoor kids’ playroom and outdoor games for everyone to enjoy.
• Daily bistro and bar specials are available, along with takeaway meals and delicious pizza.
• Live music and a traditional meat raffle are held every Friday night.
• You can also purchase bottle shop takeaways during the pub’s opening hours.
• Clean toilets and hand-wash basins are available to patrons with free camping during the pub’s opening hours.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Since the campsite has limited capacity, only guests who have confirmed venue booking at the hotel are eligible to camp for free.
2. No guaranteed camping spot without a table reservation. To secure free camping, you must enter the ‘booking reference number’ for your table reservation, which can be found in the confirmation email, into our booking form.
3. In the event of a hotel booking cancellation after the campsite has been confirmed, your reserved camping spot will be released for new bookings.
4. You can book for a maximum of 2 nights (48 hours), with each booking being for a single night. To book for one night, select a single calendar date. To book for two nights, select two consecutive dates.
5. Only self-contained campers with shower and toilet facilities, such as motor homes and caravans, are permitted at the campsite.
6. As a result of local council regulations, camping on our property is restricted to vehicles that have their own toilet and shower facilities. This means that tents, swags, vans, roof top arrangements, and car sleeping arrangements are not permitted.
7. Booking online is required and limited to 12 parking spots only.
8. If you are part of a travelling group with multiple vehicles, separate bookings are required for each vehicle, and they will be allocated one of the 12 parking spots available each day.
9. Nightly inspections will be conducted by hotel management and Surf Coast Shire. Council fines may apply.
10. Littering is strictly prohibited. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave the premises.
11. Bunting flags and signs are in place to indicate the approved camping areas.
12. Parking spots are allocated on a gravel surface, making them suitable for all weather conditions.
