We’re on the hunt for a sensational Sous Chef to join our team.

A fantastic opportunity exists for an exceptional Sous Chef to assist our Head Chef & kitchen team here at The Moriac Hotel, based in Geelong Victoria. The Hotel offers quality dining experiences, with a buzzing restaurant, busy bar, outdoor dining spaces, and function & event areas. 

Open for lunch and dinner, it features a menu consisting of modern Australian favourites using fresh & seasonal produce.

The hotel is just about to go through some exciting major changes in our food style offering, revamping of the hotel and upgrades in all areas of the operation. If you are a Chef de Partie who is looking to take the next step in your career, or a current Sous Chef who is looking for a new career challenge and change. Then we need to speak to you.

You will become involved in all aspects of the change from new menu designing, costing, and development of all our food offers here at the hotel.

We will give full training to any candidate who may not have the full skill set and help develop you into an up an coming potential Head Chef as you go through your journey with us.

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of popular cooking styles and a passion for keeping up to date with current food trends.

Applicants for this role must be able to demonstrate competency in their cooking styles and be capable of working in an environment with a high food turnover. You will also display experience in ordering, rostering, stock control and have excellent planning and organisational skills. The role is also accountable for compliance regarding all food related procedures to protect the health, safety and welfare of customers and employees.
