Also known as The Mount, this charming country pub is a renowned establishment in the hospitality industry and is now seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead its kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for a current Head Chef or Sous Chef who is looking to take the next step in their career.

As a Head Chef at The Mount Moriac Hotel, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu creation, ingredient sourcing, and staff management. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and creativity by delivering great and exciting food experiences to our guests. The Mount Moriac Hotel is undergoing major business changes and operating procedures, and as such, we are looking for a Head Chef who is adaptable and can work well under pressure. You will be working closely with the hotel’s management team to ensure that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to lead by example, setting high standards for your kitchen team and inspiring them to achieve their best.

We are looking for someone who has a strong work ethic and is committed to providing excellent customer service. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with your team, suppliers, and customers. You will also have a proven track record of creating high-quality, innovative dishes and the ability to manage a busy kitchen in a fast-paced environment.

Duties will include the following:

  • Prepare cook and serve food ensuring a high level of quality and food presentation all times.
  • Create and develop seasonal menus along with function packages.
  • Manage all food purchases, along with complete menu design and costings.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and rotation of all food products.
  • Always keep a spotlessly clean kitchen operation.

What are we looking for:

  • Cert 3-4 in Commercial cookery or equivalent.
  • Food Safety Supervisors certificate holder.
  • Experience in medium paced bistro volumes.
  • Start date to be discussed.
  • Someone with a think outside the square approach to food trends and styles
